The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe. Proverbs 18:10

As we live on this earth, we go through times which may be confusing, questionable and difficult. During such times if we meditate on the Names of our God it would be enough to see us through and also help us emerge as victors. I pray that as we meditate on His Name, God will give us a fresh understanding of His Glory and we will worship Him not only for what He does but also for who He is. I pray that you will be encouraged and uplifted as you read the Names of God.

1.   Jehovah Jireh – The Lord Will Provide

Passage from the Bible  –  Genesis chapter 22
And Abraham called the name of that place ‘Jehovah Jireh’: as it is  said to this day, in the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. (Genesis 22:14)

• Where does the Lord provide for our needs?  In the place of His will. Abraham was at the right place, so God could meet his needs. We need to be in the place of His will in order to receive the provision of God.
• When does God meet our needs? When we bring our requests to the throne of grace, God answers with mercy and grace “in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need). Sometimes it looks like God waits until the last minute to send help, but God is never too early or too late. He is always on time.
• How does God provide for us? God’s ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9 – For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.) He knows the need and he also knows the way in which the need will be met. God provided the ram at the time when Abraham needed it and in a place where Abraham could get his hands on it.
• Why does God provide for our every need?

God was glorified on Mount Moriah because Abraham and Isaac did the will of the Lord. God provides for every need because He loves us and for the glory of His Name.

The Lord will provide – God will see to it that we shall not be ashamed and that our needs will be met for the Word of the Lord says – But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
